About

The KMF organization is formed in 2026 with the goal to provide web infrastructure for several non-for-profit online projects that have been around since 2006.

Goal of the Organization: To advance open knowledge by providing free, open-access platforms that empower content creators to publish and share scholarly and encyclopedic articles, software documentation, tutorials, and educational short movies and other resources. All content is made available under open-source licenses, such as Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike and contributor-approved terms, supporting collaboration, accessibility, and the global exchange of information.

The KMF foundation seeks a 501(c)(3) status (non-profit organization, Incorporated).

Source of funds:

• Fee-for-service for hosting open-source content, formatting work of content provider materials, maintenance of software and hardware infrastructure where the content will be hosted.
• Donations.
